Tavita Garrett was awarded an OHSU Graduate Student Organization Exemplary Future Scientist Award. This award, presented at the annual School of Medicine Awards Ceremony, is intended to recognize a peer-nominated student that demonstrates the qualities of a fully-formed scientist (e.g. innovative, good scientific communication, collaborative, supportive of peers, resourceful, has a strong understanding of their field of study).

The SivyerLab received a Medical Research Foundation of Oregon New Investigator Grant which focuses on a novel population of retinal ganglion cells in the mouse retina.
